After twelve years with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Franco Harris held out for more money. Pittsburgh responded by releasing him. Just 363 yards behind Jim Brown for the most rushing yards in NFL history, Harris signed with the Seattle Seahawks after their starting back Curt Warner was injured in the season opener. Franco never could get it going in Seattle though, averaging just 2.1 yards per rush for eight games before being released. He never played in the NFL again, retiring as the second-leading rusher in league history, 193 yards behind Jim Brown.
