Suspect's Untimely Slip Leads to Arrest: Passes Gas So Loudly Cops Discover Hiding Place
Seeing a burglar get exactly what he deserves is always satisfying. The more humorous the undoing, the better.
A few months ago, a burglar was stopped in his tracks when he couldn’t fit through a chimney. He was trapped inside the failed escape route, resulting in a hilarious scene for police to encounter.
Another thief met his demise when he left his own identification on the scene. Authorities were chuckling as they asked the not-so-savvy burglar to turn himself in.
If you thought those criminals were hilariously dense, you’ll be tempted to roll your eyes (and maybe pinch your nose) when you read about this Missouri man, who couldn’t control his gassy habits when it mattered most.
It’s no surprise that it was the Clay County, Missouri, Sheriff Facebook page that reported this humorous incident. The officers are already known for their tongue-in-cheek humor.
The police department even released its own “lip sync” video captioned “Want to hear the most annoying sound in the world?!”
On Tuesday, the officers did not disappoint. The page posted a photo of officers on the search for a criminal in Clay County on July 9. The officers were searching for a suspect out on warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
The criminal had found a suitable place to take cover, but it wasn’t long before a sudden noise alerted the officers to his hideaway.
“If you’ve got a felony warrant for your arrest, the cops are looking for you and you pass gas so loud it gives up your hiding spot, you’re definitely having a ? day,” the Facebook post read.
Officers quickly detained the suspect. The amusing situation has caught plenty of attention online and attracted a number of humorous comments.
“Your Department deserves an award for Post of the year and everyone involved in this incident deserves hazard pay, especially that poor Dog,” one comment reads. “Thanks your entire Departmemt of Brave First Responders.”
“Now that’s what I call a spontaneous utterance!” someone else wrote.
