Sweet Grandma Had No Idea Someone Filmed Her Handing Garbage Men Cold Drink on Hot Day
A grandmother’s small act of kindness has put a smile on the faces of people around the country. All it took was around 15 seconds for Grandma to teach everyone watching how to love others in a practical way.
Grandma had no idea her granddaughter was filming when she stepped outdoors on a hot day. In her hands were two ice-cold drinks, neither of them for herself.
“Caught my grandma in the act,” wrote the granddaughter on Twitter, referring to her grandma’s kindness. “For always giving them ice cold drinks on hot days like these.”
As grandma stepped onto her driveway, she passed the cold drinks over to one of two garbage men working in her neighborhood. As the man offered his thanks, Grandma held her hands up as if to say, “no big deal.”
According to the granddaughter, showing kindness to the trash collectors is a regular occurrence. “Every. single. trash. day,” read the video’s caption.

Grandma “legit never misses a day without doing something as simple and kind as this,” the granddaughter wrote.
She added that her grandma inspires her daily, and summed it up with what we’re all thinking: “she so cute.”
As the video has gained attention online, many workers in similar professions have chimed in to say what a cold drink on a hot day means to them. “This was the sort of kindness that would make my summers landscaping bearable,” said one user on Reddit.
put my lola in a commercial @cokestudio growing up in the philippines if you could offer your guests coke instead of just water then you were considered well off and generous for sharing. she drinks it more than water yet she’s 90 gardening, cleaning, cooking every damn day pic.twitter.com/XC48OKRTdv

“When I worked as a garbage collector, there were a couple of houses on our routes that would leave out sodas or snacks for us,” wrote another.
“It was very much appreciated, and we tended to go beyond our normal job descriptions for those people.”
Grandma seems to have no motive other than just being nice. Her matriarchal actions have left people gushing over how much we all love grandma — the heartbeat of our lives.
“Grandmas always look out for people even if they aren’t their own family,” commented one Facebook user. “It’s just how they are.”
This sweet grandma proves you don’t have to do anything grandiose to show someone you care. It’s the small, thoughtful actions that matter most.
