The devastating blast at a home in Sterling, Virginia, killed at least one firefighter and injured several others.

The firefighters were called to the home in Sterling, Virginia, by a report of a gas smell shortly after 7:30 p.m.

One was in stable-but-critical condition at a Los Angeles hospital's burn unit and the other remained admitted for observation.

Homes in Staten Island and Brooklyn owned by the two chiefs were targeted by investigators, and both men's mobile phones were seized.
