Republican Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri wants to use the Democratic spending behemoth as a vehicle for hiring more police officers.

'This is the greatest social justice cause of our time - the innocent unborn,' Hawley tweeted regarding the brief.

The senator said 'it is unconscionable that the federal government has evidently enlisted private actors to police speech.'

'We shouldn't be defunding the police. We shouldn't be targeting the police. We should be supporting them.'

Hawley drew attention to the video of Pastor Tim Stephens' arrest, where his children can be seen sobbing and reaching for their father.

'American families aren’t safe, but they deserve to be. And they can be if we will act,' Hawley said in a news release.

'Given the rise of Big Tech and the related rise of woke capital, the GOP's rethinking of antitrust is happening not a moment too soon.'

Hawley also praised abortion survivor Melissa Ohden's testimony against the pro-choice Women’s Health Protection Act.
