A Republican state legislator from Maine wants to impeach Secretary of State Shenna Bellows over her election ruling.

Such legislation may prove all the more important given that many other states are attempting to block Trump from their ballots in 2024.

"The Maine State Police is working with our law enforcement partners to provide special attention to any and all appropriate locations."

One Republican representative, who is behind the move, called the secretary of state's decision "hyper-partisanship on full display."

Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows appeared quite proud of her decision to remove former President Donald Trump from the 2024 ballot.

Trump won one of Maine’s electors in 2020, so kicking him off the ballot there could have an outsized impact on the 2024 race.

"Nobody I've talked to in the harbor has ever seen one like this either," Knowles said, speaking of his unique catch.

One Maine congressman said the move, given that the state's "grid is insufficient...is, to say the least, ill-advised."

“What we found is just an astonishing situation, where you have these operating in plain sight," investigative reporter Jennie Taer said.
