Republicans forced a House vote to censure Waters, but Democratic discipline prevailed and the motion went down to defeat 216-210.

The threat of riots may very well have influenced the jury in Derek Chauvin's trial, which may lead to the whole case being overturned.

'I have no confidence that this verdict was produced by due process and the rule of law rather than the influence of the crowd,' he said.

'It’s the central issue of our day right now to make sure this country is safe,' Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy said.

'Three other officers remain to be tried in the Floyd case, but the verdict may already be in on them as well.'
