The 1972 murder of a New York police officer remains shrouded in layers of secrecy maintained by the FBI and NYPD.

On Sunday, an identified man shot and killed 48-year-old Daniel Enriquez on the Q train in New York City, and the NYPD is asking for help.

Despite the serious nature of the charges against Williams, the city Law Department claims the young performer 'cannot be prosecuted.'

Charges have been dropped against a 16-year-old rapper who was charged with shooting a New York City police officer.

'The bravery of our officer, who was shot in the Bronx, is to be commended,' the police commissioner said.

'It was a little sketchy. You don't know who you're dealing with … He was telling different people different stories.'

'I was up all night speaking to my commanders in the Bronx and Brooklyn. The victims were black. Many of the shooters were black.'

The Brooklyn subway shooter may have been caught on surveillance video before he entered what became an underground shooting gallery.

Police Commissioner on James: "We were able to shrink his world quickly. There was nowhere left for him to run."
