Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul had said early last week that he intended to seek an investigation of Fauci. Now, he's put it in writing.

Fauci has worked with the federal government for decades but has recently been criticized by Republicans for allegedly politicizing his work.

Fauci lashed out at Paul as the pair again went head-to-head over the origins of COVID and Fauci's potential role in it.

The anti-mask bill is co-sponsored by Republican Sens. Mike Braun, Tom Cotton, Roger Marshall and Roger Wicker.
