Soccer star Megan Rapinoe took to Instagram on Wednesday after her team's stunning World Cup elimination in the round of 16.

A former star of the U.S. men's national team had some harsh words for his female counterparts after their World Cup exit.

When ESPN produced a 3-minute tribute to Megan Rapinoe called "Unapologetically Rapinoe," the network owed the rest of the country an apology.

Yes, they lost in embarrassing fashion. And yes, people are dancing on their graves. But at least the USWNT got paid ... thanks to men.

"So ‘the most rewarding part’ of playing soccer for Megan was being a political operative," one social media user noted.

Former President Donald Trump has been onto Megan Rapino's grift for years. On Sunday, the mutual rancor came to the surface.

"I’m looking forward to seeing how you continue to inspire Americans with your grit and determination – on and off the field."

Megan Rapinoe has done precious little to earn the benefit of the doubt from conservative Americans. On Sunday, it showed.

"God receives you in His arms dear friend, forever in our hearts. We will miss you," the player's team said in a Facebook post.
