House Republicans could embarrass themselves by handing control of the lower chamber of Congress to a Democrat.

GOP Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado said he has received a notice of eviction because he did not support Rep. Jim Jordan for speaker.

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy had some jabs for Democrats as he nominated Jim Jordan to be speaker of the House.

"While we violated no rule of either the House or Republican Conference, we understand some in the Conference wish to punish us."

Things are only getting worse for Jim Jordan, who seems to be losing support -- not gaining it -- in his bid to become speaker.

"I tell folks I love that verse because of the action in it," Jordan said. "Americans aren't timid folks; they are people of action."

As Rep. Jim Jordan faced a third vote in his bid to become speaker, he said the House would work all weekend to elect a leader.

As the quest to find a Republican who can become Speaker of the House continues, Rep. Matt Gaetz had a quip ready for the media.

Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy is speaking out about an alleged squabble between him and Rep. Matt Gaetz.

"I'm still running for speaker, and I plan to go to the floor and get the votes and win this race," Jordan said.
