For obvious reasons, "The Lord of the Rings" franchise has generally produced action-oriented video games. The latest will not be that.

The Fallout franchise has featured a number of games. Here are seven of them that this author has played, and which ones you should.

Few stories in video games have had the cultural heft or impact that 2010 masterpiece "Red Dead Redemption" has had.

The creative director of the studio that produced the game declared in a 2015 post: "There were no black people in medieval Bohemia. Period."

Despite the popularity of Amazon's adaptation of the "Fallout" games, gay activists were still complaining that it was not queer enough.

While fans and critics both appear to be in agreement about the show's quality, a different aspect of "Fallout" has people quite divided.

As it turns out, most gamers today -- just like most television viewers today -- prefer older content to newer content.

He said that the "the focus on realistic graphics and games that play more like movies is the wrong direction."
