Teenage Daughter Sings Mother's Favorite Song as Mom Walks Down Aisle at Wedding
A teenage girl from Ireland is turning heads after video of her singing at her mother’s wedding went viral.
It was the summer of 2017 when Tracy White Forde married her new husband, Stephen Forde.
Tracy Forde wanted the most important people at her wedding, of course, which included her children Dylan, 16 at the time, and Leah, then 14.
Each teen had a role in the wedding ceremony, which they executed beautifully.
“I wanted my kids to be a big part of the wedding, so Leah sang me up the aisle whilst Dylan walked me halfway up the aisle,” Forde told Caters News.
Also present at the wedding was Forde’s ex-partner and her children’s father, Peter Hoey, who accompanied his daughter on guitar while she sang her mother’s favorite song.
“Their dad, Peter, and I are still friends,” Forde said. “He lives in Tenerife, so he flew over the night before the wedding and they practiced but Leah got it straight away.”
With just one rehearsal under her belt, Leah stood poised wearing a soft pink gown to sing on her mother’s big day.
During the wedding ceremony, Leah sang “I Promise You,” by Donna Taggart, with beautiful elegance and confidence.
The guests were stunned at the musical maturity in the young teen’s voice and couldn’t help but burst into applause when she finished.
It was a moment that Forde will always cherish.
“As I was walking up the aisle, she just blew me away and got a standing ovation afterward,” Forde said.
According to Forde, this wasn’t Leah’s first time performing in front of a crowd.
Performing seems to come naturally to the teen, who has been singing in front of live audiences for years, usually alongside her father.
“Leah has been singing since she was just 4 years old, she has always been a performer,” Forde said.
“We go to Tenerife twice a year to visit Peter who plays in a bar every night and Leah takes the house down when we are there.”
With yet another performance added to her list of live events, it looks like music will be a part of Leah’s life for as long as she’d like.
