Tom Brady speaks out on what should happen to host who attacked his daughter
Tom Brady is one of the most beloved athletes in New England, having led the Patriots to eight Super Bowls and five championships so far.
So it comes as no surprise that Brady fans rushed to his side after WEEI host Alex Reimer insulted Brady’s 5-year-old daughter, Vivian.
Reimer said on the air that she acted like “an annoying little pissant” on Brady’s Facebook documentary show, “Tom vs. Time.”
Brady cut short his regular call to the Boston radio station Monday, saying he was angered by Reimer’s comments.
The four-time Super Bowl MVP is now pondering whether he will continue to appear on WEEI for his weekly segment every week.
But Brady said Monday night he does not believe Reimer should be fired for his comments.
“I just think any parent is really protective of their kids,” Brady said. “I’ve never stayed away from criticism. I understand that criticism is part of sports.
“But I certainly don’t think that, you know, my children or any other children really deserve to be in that.”
However, he said, “We all have careers and make mistakes. I’d hate for someone to have to change their life over something like that. That was certainly not what he intended.”
WEEI and its parent company, Entercom, released a statement saying Weimer had been suspended indefinitely for his comments.

“We are deeply disappointed and embarrassed by Alex Reimer’s on-air comments made last Thursday evening,” the statement read. “His remarks were utterly indefensible, and mean-spirited commentary directed in any way at children is wholly inappropriate. …
“We deeply regret what happened and offer our sincerest apologies to Tom Brady, his daughter and his family, as well as the New England Patriots organization.”
Whether Reimer will be fired remains to be seen, but his actions could hurt the station if Brady decides to pull his weekly interviews from WEEI.
If Brady leaves, you can expect droves of diehard Patriots fans will follow suit.
