Trump Ruins Spoiled Reporters' Holidays by Nixing WH Christmas Party They Love So Much
President Donald Trump did what he does best this week — he wound the left-wing, establishment media into a tizzy.
How? He canceled their fancy White House Christmas party.
According to Fox News, the Christmas party tradition has evolved over time. Initially, it was just one party for the press to mingle with members of the administration and take photos with the president and the first lady.
The celebration grew so large over the years that it became a two-party, back-to-back event, with one of the parties for broadcast media, and the other for print media.
Trump already changed things up a bit at last year’s party, as he and the first lady didn’t engage in the photo portion of the traditional soiree.
The party typically includes a catered buffet, which offers such treats as “lamb chops, crab claws and elaborate desserts,” according to Fox. In the past, attendees were allowed to bring a guest with them to the event and were invited to “roam the decorated mansion.”
Given the media’s refusal to cover the Trump administration even-handedly and their frequent vitriolic attacks against him and those in his administration, who can blame the president for not wanting to invest time and money into a humongous, expensive party where he has to spend an entire evening with them?
Of course, a missed opportunity to indulge in the trappings of the high life all while thinking up new ways to bash Trump did not go over well with the media.

Kurtz: “While dropping the media party, the White House is in the midst of a full panoply of other parties this holiday season. Selected media people generally favorable to Trump, including a few Fox News hosts, have made those guest lists.” https://t.co/xSnPHdfJDe

Other parties are still scheduled for the holiday season, and Fox News noted that the guest lists for those do include “selected media people generally favorable to Trump, including a few Fox News hosts.”
No president is under any obligation to host the media at parties. No such festivities are necessary for the First Amendment to continue or are part of America having a free press.
The reaction from the media over not getting wined and dined by the man they hate is further proof of why Trump was absolutely right to cancel the party.
