Trump Takes Stand: 'Rigged' Google Searches 'Very Dangerous,' Possibly Even 'Illegal?'
It’s a day ending in “y,” so that means the far-left media’s up to something to undermine Donald Trump’s presidency.
Also, it’s a day ending in a “y” so that means Trump isn’t about to let them off the hook.
Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday to lambaste the kind of social media bias documented in a PJ Media report that found 96 percent of Google search results come almost exclusively from liberal or far-left media sources.
That seems a tad bit one-sided, no?
In his Twitter posts, Trump took a stand against the tech giant’s apparent bias against conservatism.
Google search results for “Trump News” shows only the viewing/reporting of Fake News Media. In other words, they have it RIGGED, for me & others, so that almost all stories & news is BAD. Fake CNN is prominent. Republican/Conservative & Fair Media is shut out. Illegal? 96% of….

….results on “Trump News” are from National Left-Wing Media, very dangerous. Google & others are suppressing voices of Conservatives and hiding information and news that is good. They are controlling what we can & cannot see. This is a very serious situation-will be addressed!

“Google search results for ‘Trump News’ shows only the viewing/reporting of Fake News Media,” Trump wrote.
“In other words, they have it RIGGED, for me & others, so that almost stories & news is BAD.”
Of course, Trump couldn’t help but single out one of his favorite punching bags, CNN, before questioning the legality of it all.
“Fake CNN is prominent. Republican/Conservative & Fair Media is shut out. Illegal?” Trump asked.
In fairness, if — and it looks like a strong possibility — Google is favoring left-leaning publications, it likely isn’t illegal. Google, unlike the government, is not restricted by the First Amendment to the Constitution. As a private corporation, it can run its business how it wishes.
That being said, it’s still a worrisome trend about the conspiratorial media’s attempts to undermine Trump. Whether or not Google has a responsibility ofimpartiality to the millions of people who use it is fair for debate, but the company should, at the very least, stop pretending to be some sort of bastion of bipartisan information.
While the idea Google is doing anying “illegal” might be a problem, Trump is very correct in assessing Google’s biases as “very serious.”
“Google & others are suppressing voices of Conservative and hiding information and news that is good. They are controlling what we can & cannot see. This is a very serious situation – will be addressed!” Trump said.
And that’s really the crux of it. Google may or may not be in any actual legal trouble at all for its practices.
But at the end of the day, it’s a dystopian future when the gatekeepers who control such a vast amount of information all but discard honesty in its dissemination.
Freedom and integrity in information is certainly something worth standing up for.
