UPS Driver of 43 Years Retires After 6 Million Miles, Says God Is Why He Never Had Single Accident
Retirement always seems so far away, but when it finally happens, the moment is oh so sweet indeed. This is especially true for veteran UPS driver Jimmy Christopher Howard of Atlanta, Georgia.
Howard has been driving for UPS since 1975. He’s served the company faithfully for 43 years and has something many people can’t claim.

His driving record is perfect. It’s hard to believe since he’s been driving for over 4 decades across such a busy city, right?
But it’s true. Howard has stayed safe on the roads and can retire knowing he was one of the best. But the humble man doesn’t take credit for his perfect record — both at work and at home.
In fact, the 66-year-old gives all the glory to a much higher authority. “A lot of luck, but I think God’s been with me most of the way,” he told FOX 5. “And great training from our management staff.”
Howard started driving when he was 22 and has covered over 6 million miles over the decades he’s been behind the wheel.
According to FOX 5, Howard’s daily route took him from Atlanta to Mississippi. That’s around 525 miles of driving every day total.

Rokeia Gravely shared a special salute given to Howard for his 43 years of accident-free driving. Trucks blasted their horns as he walked off the job, thanking him for his time with the company.
“The salute you get after 43 years of service and a perfect driving record at UPS!” Gravely wrote on Facebook.
Many commented their heartfelt congratulations for Howard, too. “Congratulations!! Enjoy your retirement!!” one person wrote.
“Congratulations may God bless you on your next journey and enjoy your retirement well deserved,” another noted.
His wife, Tammy Howard, shared her sentiments on Facebook as well. “I am so very proud of you…” she wrote.
“I know it is a bitter sweet time… I know they are going to miss you…” she added. “There will never be another driver quite like you I am sure. Time to celebrate the next stage of your life. You have earned it!!! I love you with all my heart.”
What a way to end a 43-year-run with smiles and thanks to God for keeping him safe on the road. Happy retirement, Jimmy Christopher Howard!
