Video Shows Incredible Power of Train as It Plows Through Entire Snowbank
Trains are powerful. Even with all the technology and forward movement in transportation over the years, trains have remained a constant.
They haul freight or transport passengers from Point A to Point B. Though we depend on trains less today than we did a hundred years ago, we still use them more than we might think.
According to the National Traffic Service, statistics compiled in 2016 showed “the average American requires roughly 40 tons of freight each year to support their lifestyle.”
That’s a lot of freight we use for trains and railways to be considered obsolete. And you definitely don’t want to find yourself in a train’s path.
If you did, you might not live to see the next day. Though trains don’t really move much faster than cars, it is their power that makes a train unstoppable.
For example, imagine you are driving down the road in the snow. Have you ever been stuck? Had your tires spin and spin and spin over ice only to find you’re going nowhere at all?
Trains don’t have that problem, it seems. Trains don’t care what the weather man says. They won’t be stopped by a little — or even a ton — of snow.
It’s like that old Postal Service motto: “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”
Which is fitting since the United States Postal Service took advantage of “Mail by Rail” early on. As early as 1832, USPS recognized the value of carrying mail via railroads.
Freight trains continue to carry mail even to this day, though Amtrak ceased mail transportation on passenger trains in 2004.
Yes, trains are more useful and powerful than we might realize. A video of one of these powerful beasts just proves trains aren’t to be messed with.
Watch as this train plows through snow as if it’s not even there. This is truly amazing! I wouldn’t want to be in this train’s way.
Look at that train go! I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen as I watched this train in action. Truly a sight to behold!
Have you ever ridden on a train before? Whether you are a frequent rider or have only ridden a train for leisure, there’s no doubt trains remain a pretty cool way to get around.
