Video: Sickening Brawl Breaks Out at Youth Baseball Game, Leads to Multiple Injuries
An all-out brawl broke out among parents at a youth baseball game last week in Lakewood, Colorado, and police are now investigating the incident.
This sickening display, captured on video, is an example of youth sports at its worst — and it really had nothing to do with the kids.
According to the Lakewood Police Department, the fight occurred on Saturday during a game involving 7-year-olds at Westgate Elementary School.
It was all apparently all triggered by a parent upset who was upset with a 13-year-old umpire’s calls, ABC News reported.
“These coaches and parents, unhappy with a baseball game involving 7 year olds and a 13-year-old umpire, took over the field and began assaulting each other,” the Lakewood Police Department wrote on its Facebook page.
“We’re looking for any information on this melee, but in particular the identity of the suspect in the white shirt and teal shorts. Several people have already been cited in this fight and several injuries were reported,” Lakewood police said.
The video shows a group of adults throwing punches at and seeming to gang up on one adult in particular — the man in the navy blue T-shirt.

According to KDVR, several people were hurt, one of them seriously.
Thankfully, no children were injured.
Police have already cited four people who were allegedly involved in the melee for disorderly conduct and fighting in public.
Authorities are looking for the man in the white shirt and teal shorts, who can be seen in the video throwing punches at the man in the navy blue shirt.
The man could face assault charges, KDVR reported.
All this happened on the field as kids watched their parents embarrass themselves and act worse than unruly children.
“I think the saddest part in all of this is we’re talking about a 7-year-old baseball game,” Lakewood police spokesman John Romero told KDVR.
“I think it’s the parents who have to grow up.”
Unfortunately this is still happening. My boys were in Little League and the parents were the worst part of it. I umped a game and couldn’t believe some of the crap these nutjob parents said. #Lakewood parents – shame on you. https://t.co/CaE43MrH6i

We’ve all seen bad behavior from parents at youth sporting events, but this takes it to another level.
It’s one of the worst examples of parents taking a kids’ game way too seriously — which just ruins it for the kids.
