It can be easy to take for granted the simple things in life. If I asked you to describe a “normal” child, what words would you use?
More than likely the word “play” would come up. Children love to play and run and jump and skip and dance. It’s part of their nature.
But for children who are born with the rare osteogenesis imperfecta, or brittle bone disease, the term “play” has a different meaning altogether.
For almost 2-year-old Livi Grace, though, OI hasn’t stopped her from bringing joy to those around her. Though there is no cure for her condition, Livi makes the most of everything she does.
According to her Facebook group page “Love for Livi Grace,” this little girl “has undergone 3 major surgeries in her short little life but always amazes [her family] with her resilience and spunk.”
Once you watch one of her videos, you’ll quickly see just how resilient and spunky she is. She is an absolute doll!
While all of Livi’s videos are viral material, each with thousands of views, one video of her sitting in a shopping cart stands above the rest.
In the Facebook video on her mom’s page, Livi can be seen “sassing” her nana about trying on some shoes.
Watch their hilarious exchange, but be warned — your heart may just melt. Mine sure did. Livi Grace knows how to capture an audience!
“I never thought this video would get so many shares!” her mom, Lindsay Rae Wix, wrote on Facebook. “Meet Livi Grace!”
Her mom says Livi is “an absolute joy” with an “unbreakable” spirit. “We like to think God blessed her with a lot of sass to make up for what she lacks physically,” she said.
OI isn’t the only thing Livi Grace and her family lives with, though. The almost 2-year-old also suffers from “a hip dysplaysia, called coxa vara,” according to her GoFundMe page.
What’s more is that one of Livi’s older sisters, Maci Kate, was recently diagnosed with brain lesions that have caused her constant headaches and eye pain.
“The odds are unbelievable for all this family has gone through with their children’s health,” the GoFundMe page reads. Indeed.
