Watch a miracle half-court heave complete NCAA basketball comeback
This is why we love college basketball.
On Sunday, Stanford freshman Daejon Davis hit a buzzer-beater from beyond half court to give the Cardinal a thrilling 77-76 win over the University of Southern California.
The game-winning shot capped a tremendous comeback by Stanford, which had trailed by 15 points with about 10 minutes remaining.

The final moments of this Pac-12 battle were as good as it gets.
With the game tied at 74, USC guard Jordan McLaughlin took the ball the length of the court and converted an unbelievably difficult layup to give the Trojans a 76-74 lead with 1.7 seconds left.
McLaughlin drove to his left, past his man, then flipped in a layup from the left side of the rim with his right hand despite having a Stanford defender draped all over him. The fact that he got off the shot, let alone made it, is pretty amazing.
But the celebration for USC fans quickly turned into disbelief.
Stanford had no timeouts remaining, so after USC’s go-ahead basket, the Cardinal quickly inbounded the ball to Davis.
Davis took one dribble and, with 0.7 seconds remaining, let it fly from just beyond half court. The ball splashed through the net as time expired to give Stanford a 77-76 win.
“I saw (McLaughlin) make a really tough shot,” Davis said after the game. “I looked up and saw 1.7 seconds on the clock. I just threw it up. … I knew it had a chance. It’s amazing when things happen like that.”
His teammates mobbed him on the court as the home crowd went nuts.

“To be honest, I didn’t know what was happening. I wanted to see if it counted,” Davis added.
Oh, it counted alright.
The win was the second straight for Stanford. Three nights earlier they came back from 13 down to give Pac-12 leader UCLA its first loss in the conference.
Stanford improved to 8-8 overall and 2-1 in the Pac-12, while USC fell to 11-6 and 2-2 in the conference.
