Watch: Sweet Moment Wife Tells Her Husband and Mother She's Having Triplets
Having a baby completely changes your life. Perhaps that’s why pregnancy announcements are so much fun to watch.
We know that some unsuspecting man is about to receive the shock of his life. I still remember how my wife told me that I was about to become a father.
She served me a lavish, homemade meal and asked me how I liked it. About halfway through, I realized that she’d made baby back ribs and baby potatoes and baby corn and baby peas — and it’s a meal I’ll never forget.
Most men probably have similar moments branded in their memories.
When Stephanie Valas recorded her husband, he had a different reaction entirely. See, he knew she was expecting.
While looking at the sonogram pictures, he said, “Little thing! That’s beautiful!” Then noticing his wife’s lack of reaction, he added, “Is everything OK?”
Valas told him to look closer at the pics. “See anything different?” she prompted.
Confused, he looked harder at the flimsy printouts and noticed they were labeled “A,” “B,” and “C.” But he still didn’t get it.
“I don’t understand,” he said. “What’s wrong?”
Warning: The following video contains vulgar language that some viewers may find offensive.
It took Valas spelling it out for him to comprehend. “This is a picture A of Baby A, this is a picture of Baby B, this is the picture of Baby C,” she said, her voice beginning to crack.
Her husband stared dumbstruck at the strip of pictures before finally asking, “We’re having three babies?” Then he counted them out on his fingers.
“One? Two? Three?” he said before breaking into a hilarity-filled cackle and engulfing Valas in a hug. “Why is that bad? That’s amazing!”
He followed it up with an expletive and then said, “I’m happy! We’re going to need a bigger house.”
His reaction was just as good as that of the family’s grandmother. Another video opened with her staring at the same collection of pictures, just as confused as Valas’ husband.
When she said that she didn’t understand, Valas pointed out, “This is Baby A, that’s Baby B, that’s Baby C.”
Grandma’s eyes grew a little wider as Valas listed each letter of the alphabet, and she erupted, yelling, “Are you sure?!”
“That’s what I said,” Valas quipped a quaver in her voice. She needn’t be concerned because, with familial love like this, she’ll be just fine.
