Watch Tearful Moment 38-Year-Old Man Comes Face to Face with Married Birth Parents

Share

Adoption is a beautiful thing, indeed. What is perhaps even more beautiful is the heart of the parents who would give up their baby in hopes he would have a better life.

This is the story of Steve Stansfield. Now 38, the Pennsylvania native wasn’t even 3 months old when his 16-year-old mom and dad gave him up for adoption.

His adoptive parents were open with him from a young age, and Stansfield always knew he had a set of biological parents somewhere out there.

“We told him that he was given up for love, and that we loved him and his birth mother loved him,” his adoptive father Jerry Stansfield told The Island Packet.

It was a blessing for this man, growing up as an only child with a mom and dad who loved him very much. He got married and even has kids of his own now.

But Steve Stansfield never stopped wondering about his birth parents. It’s a common story, and one that doesn’t always end with a miracle.

With the help of his wife, Erin Hanson, his adoptive parents and a 2017 change in Pennsylvania State Law, Stansfield was able to find his miracle, and just in time for the holidays.

With his newfound birth certificate in hand, Stansfield’s search would finally lead somewhere. As it turns out, his birth parents had been looking for him, too.

And not just his parents but his siblings as well! When Stansfield’s wife was able to find his biological sister, Nicole Foran, on Facebook, everything started to fall into place.

A private message from Hanson to Foran revealed so much. “We have been looking forever,” Foran replied.

What came next was a whirlwind. The reunion was planned and everything seemed to work out perfectly, just as it should after so many years.

The tearful reunion of birth parents and son was caught on camera. Grab your tissues for this one! It’s impossible not to be filled with as much emotion as the family.

CarolAnn Foran, Stansfield’s birth mom, couldn’t stop hugging him, apologizing profusely. His response to her was priceless.

“Don’t be sorry ever,” he told her in the video. “Ever again in this life, you never get to be sorry.” He embraced his parents again then, the lost years melting away.

“This is all about love,” Jerry Stansfield told The Island Packet. “This is all about Steve and this family that he now has. It’s not about us.”

Words spoken by a truly loving father. We’re so glad for this expanded family and all the love they get to share.
