Standing inside a church in Montefrío, Spain, songstress Malinda Kathleen Reese sang one of Christmastime’s beloved carols.
Reese is a singer, songwriter and actress with a popular YouTube channel to showcase her original songs and latest projects.
Standing in the gorgeous, empty church, Reese chose to sing “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.”
Her warm voice filled the room, and the beautiful acoustics in the old church did the rest.
As her voice reverberated through the church, the old Christmas carol took on a hauntingly beautiful tone that perfectly fit the melody.
Reese paused between phrases, allowing time for the music to echo throughout the building.
She was clearly enjoying the acoustics, evidenced by the sweet smile she couldn’t keep off her face.
“Sounds how I imagine angels singing in heaven,” commented Facebook user Pam Gibson. “Made me emotional for some reason.”
Over 13 million viewers have found Reese’s caroling beautiful as well.
With Christmas right around the corner, the timing couldn’t be better for fans to hear such a solemn, gorgeous rendition of “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.”
Many people wrote to say that hearing the old carol has made them feel more ready for the Christmas season, and reminded them that Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Christ.
On Dec. 10, Reese gave fans a holiday encore with the release of an original Christmas song titled, “Little Love.”
It may not be sung inside an old church, but her voice still floods the air with warmth, clarity and a sweet beauty that fans find irresistible.
When she’s not traveling around the world belting out Christmas carols inside old buildings, Reese is probably best known for her work on her YouTube channel, “Translator Fails.”
Reese inputs lyrics from popular songs through Google Translate and sings the results, which are often comical and lighthearted.
In each video, Reese plays a “character” and acts and sings the role with her freshly translated lyrics.
She’s also working on releasing more original music, and in her words, “trying to add joy to the world.”
