Whiny Leftists Call for Boycott of an Entire State over Kavanaugh Confirmation
Many of those on the left aren’t taking the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh very well. One of their coping mechanisms is to boycott an entire state.
Kavanaugh was confirmed on a narrow 50-48 vote Saturday and sworn in as an associate justice.
One of the Republicans considered a swing vote, Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, voted in favor of Kavanaugh. Now her entire state is being boycotted by whiny liberals.
Actor and comedian John Fugelsang helped bring visibility to the Maine boycott in a since-deleted tweet, according to WCSH-TV in Portland.
“Dear Susan Collins – I really struggled with this but my tourist $ just voted against ever visiting Maine while you remain in office,” Fugelsang wrote.
Some of his followers on Twitter said they would join him in avoiding the Pine Tree state because of Collins’ vote.
I’m taking Maine off my agenda for our annual family skiing trip & propose a campaign called #SkiBlue to support resorts in #VT #NH #CT #NY #NJ #MA #RI

Was planning on vacationing in Acadia next year. Thanks to Collins' cowardice I will not. #boycottmaine

Others followed suit, including a Florida woman who wrote in a barely decipherable tweet that she no longer will travel to Maine and contribute to its economy.
@SenatorCollins Im a US citizen living in FL. We spend summers in Nova Scotia, driving thru Me where we stay awhile, twice / yr…up & back, contributing to Me economy …no more..the only $ spent by us in Me will be to your opposition . #boycottMaine

Someone reminded her that she lives in a state with a Republican senator, Marco Rubio, who voted for Kavanaugh.
Since your boy Rubio voted to confirm as well, will you be moving out of FL?

Others directed their temper tantrums at companies and products produced in Maine.
Hey @StonewalKitchen remember all the things I usually purchase to make holiday baskets? I'm taking my business elsewhere. You can thank @SenatorCollins for the loss in sales. I'll also be asking my local stores that carry you to stop. #BoycottMaine

One self-identified vegan went so far as to throw away his coveted moose magnet!
Hey Susan Collins, I know you couldn't care less about my throwing out my Maine fridge magnet & vowing never to step foot in your state or buy a product from your state again, but I want nothing to do with you or the state you represent. For shame, for absolute shame. #BoycottMaine pic.twitter.com/uv87RomINE

At least he was honest when he tweeted, “Hey Susan Collins, I know you couldn’t care less.”
In fact, nobody cares. It seems like more people are laughing at this ridiculous boycott than joining in.
However, the anti-Maine hissy fit does show us something important about the left.
You don’t see angry leftists boycotting deep-red states. Instead, they target those who seem most susceptible to their influence, like a moderate senator in a relatively blue state.
If the left were consistent, we’d also see boycotts of Texas, Georgia, Florida and Nevada.
Would the left be willing to give up Las Vegas in a boycott? Probably not.
They are sore losers who will lash out at the easiest target.
