Widower Overcome with Emotion While Describing Late Wife to Sketch Artist
In a society where divorce could almost be considered an epidemic, where about half of all married couples part ways according to the American Psychological Association, it’s comforting to see a marriage that lasted a lifetime.
In an emotional video originally posted on World Star Hip Hop, a sweet elderly man can be seen describing his late wife to a professional sketch artist.
We don’t know the man’s name, nor do we know how he ended up sitting beside a sketch artist. All we know is that this video is certainly guaranteed to tug more than a few heartstrings.
The man shares with the sketch artist that he and his wife were married 62 years. She asks him what his secret is.
“Make her your friend and never lie to her,” he says. At that point the sketch artist almost seems to tear up.

The man goes on to describe his wife in vivid detail. He clearly took time to memorize every part of her, inside and out.
“They were sparkling. Deep brown. Looked at you… with great love and affection. They couldn’t be truer,” he says of her eyes.
“I take it you think that she was the most beautiful woman?” the sketch artist asks. His reply comes without hesitation.
“Oh, there’s no question about it… anyone who met her, inside to outside. She was the most beautiful woman I’d ever known,” he says.
He continues by describing his wife’s smile. “It was engaging, it was welcoming, it was beautiful,” he shares.
The man explains he has a daughter, two sons and seven grandchildren. “They’re all good kids and I give most of the credit to her,” he says.
When the sketch artist asks what the man misses most about his wife, he pauses, as if in deep thought, and his lower lip quivers.
This is the part that really got to me. “Her embrace,” he says as the tears begin to well. Then he closes his eyes as if remembering the way she felt in his arms.
You won’t want to cut this video short, because the best moment comes at the end when the artist reveals her sketch.
When she asks him if the sketch is right, his response is priceless. “It’s beyond right,” he says, sobbing. “It’s beyond right… Thank you so much.”
As he removed his glasses and wiped the tears from his eyes, I was overcome with emotion. What a touching video that shows true love really does exist and can even last a lifetime.
