James Woods Posts Brutal Rhyme About Hillary, Sheriff Israel
Leave it to James Woods.
The conservative actor known almost as well for his pithy tweets as for his award-winning acting did it again on Sunday afternoon, cutting straight through to the bottom line with a tweet that was “liked” nearly 12,000 times in just over two hours.
I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure that fulfills the technical definition of “viral.”
“When bullets are flying and people are dying,” Woods tweeted, “these are the LAST two people on earth you would call.” He included a picture of Broward Country Sheriff Scott Israel and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
And boy, was he right.
Clinton, of course, is known for a series of documented failures in what she probably euphemistically refers to as her career of public service.
The most dramatic, however, probably occurred in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012, when she headed the State Department. At that time, the U.S. consulate and a nearby CIA annex came under attack by radical Muslim militants, leading to the deaths of four men, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.
It was the moment when she received that famous “3:00 a.m. phone call” that her campaign ads had spoken of. The ad, from her failed 2008 presidential bid, implied that then-Sen. Barack Obama wasn’t ready for the responsibilities of the White House.
Ironically, she was right. Unfortunately, she wasn’t ready for them, either.
Both Clinton and President Obama essentially ignored the attack — which they knew almost immediately to be an act of terror, though they would deny that later — and let Americans die on foreign soil without even trying to send assistance.
Sheriff Israel, of course, would probably have never made a dent on the national consciousness were it not for the abject failure of his own officer to engage accused mass murdered Nikolas Cruz during the Parkland High School shooting on Feb. 14.
Three faculty members and 14 students were killed in that shooting while a Broward County deputy waited outside the building.
And while there’s nothing — literally nothing — funny about that, Woods did receive some responses to his tweet that can only be described that way.
The truth is, when bullets are flying and people are dying, Sam Elliott probably offered the best advice:
